Practical, evidence-based coaching that works with the architecture of your brain — not against it. Focus, habits, stress resilience, relationships and life direction.
Most people arrive carrying something that has been building for a while — a mind that won't switch off, habits that won't stick, a sense of running at half-capacity. Brain-Mechanic coaches the whole picture: focus, behaviour, relationships and lifestyle. No referral needed. No waiting lists. This is coaching, not therapy — if something needs a clinical level of care, we'll say so and point you to the right place.
Every session draws on brain science and a genuine commitment to practical change — supporting focus, resilience, habits and everyday functioning.
Looking for clinical mental health support (diagnosis, complex trauma, couples therapy) rather than coaching? Keystone Therapy is Dr Halls' clinical practice. Looking for team or workplace coaching? Visit Neuro-Coach.
Your first appointment is about clarity, not pressure. We slow things down, understand the pattern, and identify a clear way forward.
Sessions can draw on modern tools to make coaching more precise and engaging — always in support of the coaching conversation, never a replacement for it.
Technology supports the coaching, it doesn't diagnose. For a full clinical brain-map (qEEG), we refer into Keystone Therapy's clinical qEEG pathway — that assessment sits outside what Brain-Mechanic coaching provides directly.
All areas approached through a practical, brain-based lens. No referral required.
"The nervous system doesn't lie. When we learn to listen to it, real change becomes possible."
I'm Dr Steve Halls — Behavioural Neurotherapist, researcher, and founder of Brain-Mechanic in Perth. Over decades of research and practice, I've developed a structured, evidence-informed approach built on one conviction: the most effective coaching is the most honest.
My approach draws on behavioural neuroscience, habit-formation research and practical, evidence-informed coaching methods. I hold specialist background in focus and executive function, stress resilience, communication skills, men's development and brain-health longevity.
I see clients face-to-face in Subiaco, and via telehealth across Western Australia and nationally. Brain-Mechanic is a Syntropy Foundation™ initiative. For clinical mental health support, my practice Keystone Therapy is a separate, dedicated service.
Distance shouldn't determine access to good coaching. Telehealth at Brain-Mechanic is secure, personable and works well for most coaching areas — including focus, stress resilience and communication skills work.
